Subject: Weekend FTP server open again!
**Anonymous ftp to 128.183.22.177**
For those of you who may have been following my escapades, well, I'm at it
again! I'm opening up my computer to any and all who may want to browse
around my public files.
In the past I have tried many things to get a Windows-based ftp server to run
the entire weekend long without crashing. Alas, to no avail. So why and I
trying again? Well, this time I have an entirely new computer! It's a
Micron P66 PCI PowerStation, that is a 66MHz Pentium PCI bus machine. And it
has Windows for Workgroups 3.11, instead of Windows 3.1. Who knows, maybe
it will make a difference.
If you get a chance and are interested, do an anonymous logon to
128.183.22.177 and see what's here. I have a lot of what I consider
excellent shareware/ freeware programs, and a ton of pix in 256 colors
that work great for 1024x768 wallpaper. They are of castles and outdoors
scenes and animals, among other things. Nothing racy though. There's
also a ton of clipart there, if you use such stuff. Oh, and I think I have
the latest of most of the winsock applications (but not Trumpet Winsock
itself). Oh, and I've also added some pictures from the Smithsonian's
photo archive. Again, I think they're all 256 color. There are some good
shots of animals, of Washington DC, and even three pictures of the Star Trek
cast when they were in DC at the Air and Space Museum.
I would appreciate hearing from you if you do stop by. Send me an e-mail
message to the address below and tell me if you had any problems.
My fingers are crossed that this time it won't bomb by Friday evening!

How about just using comp.binaries.ms-windows ? It already exists, it's
in the traditional hierarchy (comp, not alt) which helps propagation, it
has a moderator to keep the group limited to submissions (not discussion).
Looks like a better move to me.
BTW, comp.os.ms-windows.networking.tcp-ip exists, probably people should
start moving discussion there instead of splitting it between there and
alt.winsock.

After WSAAsyncSelect() the socket will still be non-blocking, but you will
receive no more Windows messages. You still have to call ioctlsock(FIONBIO)
to set the socket back to blocking mode.

Subject: Nedd instructions on slip/winsock
Hello
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me how (or point
me to a source that would tell me how) to set up a windows 3.1 machine
using winsock and slip connections. I know very little about this and
would like more info.
Thanks in advance

Subject: Chameleon Problem
Our server just upgraded the software for the Netblazer. Since the
upgrade, my Chameleon Sampler will not work properly. The difficulty
seems to be getting Chameleon Sampler to handler the dynamic addressing
properly. It seems to connect properly, but I get "Unable to Connect to
Host" messages whenever I run any of my TCP/IP utilities. Nothing on my
end changed at all, so it seems to be an interaction between Chameleon
Smapler and Netblazer. Anyone experienced this? Any solutions come to mind?
Mitch
